Desert Landscapes

I took these photos while traveling on sabbatical from teaching Physics at Purdue, Spring 2004. My wife, Janet, and our daughters, Amanda and Emily, lived with me in our llama trailer. I set up my digital darkroom in the llama quarters, an 8x10 room in the back (the llamas stayed home!). While not visiting accelerator labs, we camped in many of the desert environments of the southwestern United States and Mexican Baja Peninsula. I was impressed by the incredible beauty and wide variety of landscapes that nature has formed over millions of years.

Prints of these images were on display at the Wells Gallery, Tippecanoe Arts Federation, Lafayette, Indiana, August 2005
